EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree and 3 plus years of professional experience in enterprise network engineering or associate's degree with 5 plus years of professional experience

EXPERIENCE:

Experience with network implementation, monitoring, diagnostics, and security best practices

JOB KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Proficiency with Juniper network devices and JUNOS configuration. Required to have a high-level understanding of networking concepts and protocols and their application in a network environment:

MAJOR JOB TASKS:

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network systems including routers, switches, and firewalls for layer 2 and layer 3 LAN and WAN environments
• Configure and support Juniper-based networking solutions across multiple sites
• Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and proactively address potential issues
• Maintains all network devices with firmware and software updates for security patches and features
• Complete any IT/Security training as assigned
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network problems to maintain optimal uptime and connectivity
• Collaborate with other IT staff on infrastructure projects and upgrades
• Maintain up-to-date documentation on network architecture, configurations, and procedures
• Participate in on-call rotation and perform after-hours maintenance or emergency support as needed

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have valid driver's license without violation, which would prohibit insurability.
• Ability to work independently on-site, including equipment installation and cable management
• Willingness to respond to after-hours emergencies and perform scheduled maintenance outside of normal business hours
• Juniper certifications (JNCIA, JNCIS, or higher)
• Familiarity with utility or critical infrastructure environments
• Experience supporting SCADA or other operational technology (OT) networks is a plus
• Working conditions are normal for an office environment plus some work in outdoor environments requiring safety procedures. Work requires extensive work using a computer. Responsibilities may require evening and weekend work in response to the needs of the systems and users being supported.
